As anticipated in the Workshop held on the 22nd of October 2013, the "Guidelines for the Environmental Monitoring Project of works subject to EIA" are made available for public consultation in order to receive helpful comments and suggestions from those involved in the process of EIA (mainly Public Administrations and Developers) so that the Guidelines can better respond to the objectives they pursue.

The Guidelines are intended to provide methodological and operational indications to the developers for the preparation of the Environmental Monitoring Project and for the sharing and reuse of data resulting from the implementation of environmental monitoring.

The document is presented in preliminary form for the only part relating to “General methodological Guidelines” and will be completed in the short term with the thematic sections related to “Specific methodological guidelines on environmental component/factor", currently being under preparation in collaboration with ISPRA and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.

The Guideline, in its final version with integrated thematic sections, will constitute an official guideline for Environmental Impact Assessment procedures, updating the existing "Guidelines for Environmental Monitoring Project of the Strategic Works under Law 443/2001 prepared by the Special EIA Committee in 2007 as implementation of the provisions of article 28 of Decree 152/2006 as amended.
