The new release of the Environmental Assessments portal is online from the 1st of July 2014.

Completely renewed and enhanced in the information content, the new website has been designed to promote and improve the communication and sharing of all relevant information related to national EIA and SEA procedures with the public, the institutions and the enterprises.

On the occasion of the start of the Italian Presidency of the EU, the English version of the portal has been prepared so that its contents can be fully shared at international level, with particular reference to foreign companies interested in the development of projects in the Italian territory, but also to European and international citizens and institutions.

The new website layout gives evidence to the main ongoing activities and specific types of procedures (integrated and coordinated procedures, transboundary consultations) as well as to topics of interest to the users aiming at facilitating the interaction with the portal. The improved Search tools (search by Procedure Code is now available) help users to access information and administrative documents (non-technical summary, project documents, environmental impact reports, opinions, comments from the public, etc.) in a faster way.

Administrative transparency, a feature already available in the previous version of the portal through which, among other documents, the comments received during the consultation stage are also published, has been further enhanced by indicating the "Responsible of the procedure" and its references in each document related to the Plan/Programme/Project being evaluated.

In the Environmental Data section, as part of the Catalog data, WebGIS services (WMS, WFS), external databases of interest to the Environmental Assessments, as well as the WebGIS Viewer for the creation of customized maps are made available.

The sections for the "Communic-action" with citizens, developers and anyone else interested in Environmental Assessments are still active and represent the tools through which provide further information about national procedures and, more generally, about procedural and technical aspects related to Environmental Assessments, but also through which receive useful comments or suggestions about the portal in order to better meet the needs of the users.
