Operational guidelines for the application of the EIA process for wind power plants for the production of electric power on the mainland

Following numerous questions received from regional administrations concerning the application of the Environmental Impact Assessment procedure to wind farms electrical power production on the mainland, the Directorate-General for Environmental Assessment of the Ministry of the Environment has set up the appropriate operational guidelines on the basis of the existing sector regulations and the Judgment of the Constitutional Court no. 67 of the 23rd February 2011.
The document, already forwarded to all the Regions by certified electronic mail, is the first of a number of tools (operational guidelines, circulars, etc.) that the Directorate intends to set up on specific issues relating to EIA procedures to ensure the correct and consistent application of legislation and to facilitate the activities of the public administrations and other public and private parties involved.
